From Pumpkin to Jack-O-Lantern

This kid went to bed and missed most of the festivities. He liked smacking the pumpkin though!

That's right, we carved us some pumpkins! We had such a fun night gutting our pumpkins and choosing designs and then carving the tender flesh. It was fabulous. We learned our lesson from last year (carving our pumpkins a week before Halloween and having yucky, moldy, mildew, nasty pumpkins by Halloween... we were still getting used to the humidity, what can I say?) and did it the night before the big day this time. For some reason ,this boy was grossed out by the guts?! I thought every boy loved digging in and getting dirty. Apparently not...

Can you tell who Jonah is impersonating? Hint: It starts with "G" and ends with "rim Reaper" except he kept saying, "I'm the Grim Creeper!" Oh, and also, the answer is no, we don't usually let our kids play with lighters. Just when they're pretending to kill people :)

I love the smell of lit-up jack-o-lanterns. Halloween-y...

Spook-tacular, to be sure.

Those really are some awesome pumpkins! Russell got really creative and did Miss Piggy. He amazes me all the time. I didn't realize he was so artistic. :)

Hope you are all well! (enjoy your trip)
