These bottles have been gracing the top shelf of about 6 or 7 different sets of kitchen cupboards over the past 8 1/2 years. We purchased two 2-packs of these Avent bottles when Laylah was approximately 2 days old, the day she came home from the hospital. I bought them to go along with my Avent pump (it was THEE brand to have at the time) and they have been absolutely fabulous. We have gone through many, many different bottle nipples (flow strengths 1-4!) as my babies grew and changed.
Last week I was cleaning out my cupboards and saw them sitting up on the top shelf, along with a couple of sample cans of formula (one of which had WEEVILS in it! EW! Shows you how many times Magnus actually used these bottles. My guess would be about 5 times. Spoiled baby). I pulled them down and tossed one to Andrew.
"Think it's time to chuck these bad boys?"
"I guess, we won't be needing them for anything. I can't believe they've lasted this long."
"I know. It kind of makes me just a little sad..."
And it did, as I remembered holding, snuggling, and rocking each one of my babies and feeding them their bottle. Or, as they were older and could crawl, making their bottle and shaking it and having them give me a big grin and crawl as fast as they could towards me, grab that bottle, and flip on their back to start gobbling down that thick, stinky formula.
Then again, I really did hate formula. Natsy stuff, that.
Goodbye Avent bottles! You've served us well, but now it's time to go.

Sarah! That is so sad. I hate that kids have to grow up so fast!
