Blue Skies and Windchimes

Do you ever just pause for a minute and take it all in? Breathe deep, really open your eyes, and take a look around? I try to. I forget sometimes, and then I will have a little moment. A moment where peace envelopes me, and I feel true joy. Happiness, beyond measure.

A couple of weeks ago, it was 65*. In January. It was warm enough to be outside without even a jacket on. Bear asked me to jump on the tramp with him while Magnus was napping. Of course, I have to admit, I didn't want to do that. I almost came up with an excuse of 50 other things I had to do, rather than go jump up and down and try not to pee my pants. But looking at that eager, begging face, I agreed. We headed out in our short sleeve shirts and bare feet. We jumped and jumped and jumped. We played crack the egg, ghost in the graveyard, and jumped over different sizes of bouncy balls. It was really fun. I mean really fun.

After awhile Bear had to run inside to go potty, and so I layed down on the tramp and sat very still.

There was a soft breeze blowing.
The sky was the most beautiful shade of blue, with not even the trace of a cloud in sight.
I heard birds singing softly in the gently swaying trees.
The tinkling of a nearby windchime tickled my inner ear.
The sun bathed my face in a warm, happy light, and it was bright on the inside of my eyelids.
It was the perfect temperature and I felt completely content. Completely happy. I made a mental note to remember this moment.

I am truly blessed. I am truly happy. The earth is the most incredible place, and I am glad to be here.

And I think I need some windchimes of my own.

Great post. You are an amazing blogger btw. Tramps give me "pee my pants" anxiety too. ONe of the sacrifices of having children right?

If you're like every other mom I know you're probably WAY too hard on yourself. You're such a great mom and posts like this reaffirm my opinion of you. That last picture is fantastic. Pure delight on Baron's face. These types of things are the memories I hold dearest from spending time with my parents.
