Driving For A Long... Long... Time

I'm sitting in the car, driving somewhere in the middle of the California desert. We're driving home from our fun, full, exhausting family to trip to Disneyland. My parents took me and my family, as well as all of my siblings and their families. It was SO much fun, and I'm sad that it went by so fast. (Even though I am exhausted, like I mentioned above.)

I am not a huge fan of traveling with kids. The poor mother gets stuck with so much work while everyone else just gets to have fun. I'm not trying to complain, rather, it makes me think about how much I appreciate all of the work my own mother did so that I could have such wonderful memories of amazing family trips as a child.

That's not to forget how much the daddies do. They do most of the "grunt work" as I like to call it. Carrying tired children, pushing heavy strollers, lugging heavy suitcases in and out of hotels, stuff like that. They are also the comic relief when mom has had it and she is about to start pulling her hair out. Dads are good to have around, yessiree.

I guess what I'm rambling about is just that I am grateful for parents. They do so much. SO MUCH. And it is usually completely unappreciated and unnoticed, just because that's what parents do. Well, I want my parents to know that I appreciate them. They have always been incredible and not a day goes by that I don't think about how lucky I am for their love, kindness, generosity, helpfulness, and the ability they have to always make me feel adored and loved, no matter what. My parents are beyond amazing and there are no words to write to say how much I love them.

Anyway, enough of that mushy stuff :) the point is, we had a great trip, and now I am traveling in the car back to freezing cold Utah after I have been in 70-90 degree weather for the last week. Boo Hoo.

PS I am super bored. Which is why I am blogging on my phone in the middle of the desert in the first place. Ahhhh, well. 7-ish more hours to go. Here is a cute picture of my cute family in front of a cute mouse :)

you lucky thing! That sounds super fun. I dare say that is my favorite vacation to go on. Brings back some cheer competition memories too!

Sounds like a great trip! Glad you were all able to have fun...even if you had to be the mom. Car rides are the trickiest with kids for sure. Hope you get back safely!
